Lawyers who love AI cases, Asian spies, raise spotlight and best events in tech. LA-born, now nationwide.

Happy Sunday,
Hope you enjoy this newsletter as it grows the sections. I tripled my screentime to deliver best tech gossip for you guys: from across AI and startup landfrom legal dust-ups to uncanny humanoid demos and fresh calls for guardrails. Plus: a Raise Spotlight on startups actively fundraising, a Reverse Pitch from angel investors (how to reach them and what they want), and a few spicy links and wins to round it out. Grab a sip and dive in.
Tech Tea:
Lawyers abuse AI and continue to charge you $1000/hour despite OpenAI claim they banned ChatGPT from giving legal advice(allegedly). One French vigilante decided to gather all the AI slops in database.
Hot Asian Women are allegedly stealing your startup’s secrets. And Silicon Valley is falling for it, yet again. Imho: if you’re hot and Asian-American - step it up, girl. Marry into tech money and launch your own startup.1
Chinese company's new humanoid robot, IRON, moves so smoothly, they had to cut its leg open to prove a person wasn't hiding inside (or remotely controlled like Neo). The breakthrough tech of “artificial muscle” used was developed in South Korea.
An Open Letter signed by Steve Wozniak and Richard Branson calls to regulate superintelligence. Meanwhile Microsoft AI head Mustafa Suleyman highlighted the formation of a new team dedicated to developing a “humanist superintelligence” that’s “designed only to serve humanity” in his recent lengthy blogpost.
Bret Taylor’s AI startup Sierra is close to signing one of SF’s biggest office leases this year. The startup recently closed a $350 million funding round, led by earlier investor Greenoaks Capital, and has been growing its headcount. The 9-9-6 vibe is going strong.
Raise Spotlight: Epilog AI

One Line Pitch: 8K AI-vision + SideCar retrofit to bring human-level perception to cars, cameras, and health scanning.
Raising: Reg CF on StartEngine; ~$2.9M committed toward an ~$25.1M valuation (active Nov 2025).
Why yes: Multi-product platform (SideCar, Closeview, Wellcome, Vortex), 9–10 patents, and 5k+ investors to date. High-res, edge-AI focus is differentiated, and a public raise helps with community distribution.
Why pause: Hardware and safety/regulatory work can slow timelines and burn cash. Broad scope (auto, security, health) risks dilution of focus. Reg CF equity is illiquid; look for proof: live pilots, shipped units, safety/accuracy metrics, margins, and real partnerships.

Lingo of the Week — “Boobplate Optics”
The PR headache when a completely redundant cosmetic chest shape on a robot distracts from the tech demo. Tbh, they should take it a step further and collab with Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS and her pierced nipple bra.
